Lionel Messi celebrated his 500th game as a Barcelona star with another great victory.
“We didn’t start well, you know the Club World Cup always takes a toll, but in the end what’s important is that we got the three points,” said Messi, after his side’s 4-0 win over Real Betis.
The Argentine admitted he doesn’t know if he deserved a penalty for the goal which broke the deadlock.
“I went to control the ball, but I don’t know if it was a penalty or not. I only know that I collided.”
Asked about whether Barcelona could repeat what they have achieved this year, Messi replied: “We know it’s really tough to beat these five titles, but the squad has huge desire. We want to keep winning.”
