The team from Belarus has former blaugrana amongst their ranks and the squad trains at the stadium where they will face Barça on Wednesday.
“We are up against the best team in the world” admits coach Aleksandr Yermakovich in his press conference.
Bate Borisov are now in Barcelona. Barça’s rivals in Match Day 4 of this season’s Champions League group stages landed in the city on Tuesday and then trained at Camp Nou for the final time ahead of their game against Luis Enrique’s team on Wednesday at 8.45pm CET.
The squad coached Aleksandr Yermakovich went through their paces with former Barça player Alexander Hleb the main attraction. The midfielder has been out through injury but his coach admitted before the press prior to training that there is a good chance he will be fit enough to face his former club. The Belarusians came out on to the pitch at Camp Nou at around 6.30pm CET in a training session that was open to the press for the opening 15 minutes.
In his press conference in the Ricard Maxenchs press room at Camp Nou, Yermakovich gave his thoughts ahead of the clash with the Catalans in Group E. The BATE boss admitted that his team where “aware that we are coming up against the best club in the world, because they have top players and they all have quality.” Despite “knowing the potential of Barça,” the coach said his team “are prepared and it will be a good test of where we are at.”
