Neymar’s father has assured that his son, Neymar Jr., will renew his contract with Barcelona. Despite having almost three years left on his deal with the Catalan club, Neymar Sr. has confirmed that the talks are ongoing regarding new teams.
Speaking at the LFP awards on Monday, he said: “We are going to renew with Barcelona, that’s for sure. He has three more years at Barça, so there’s no need for urgency. There’s no rush.”
He also said there are no problems with the club: “We are relaxed and sure that Neymar will continue here for many more years. He is happy in Barcelona and there’s no need for a change.”
Asked about his demands regarding the player’s fiscal problems, he wanted to nuance that “we’re not asking for fiscal serenity, all that we want is that they understand us; that they see that our structure is valid.”
Finally, he refused to give any importance to recent rumours about interest from Real Madrid. “I don’t know anything about those rumours,” he said, before getting into his car.
