In the final game of the year, Luis Suarez didn’t just surpass the number he scored in the total of last season (25), but beat it, notching a second goal against Betis towards the end to hit 26.
The Uruguayan finished an exceptional 2015 as top scorer in La Liga, with 15, above the 14 of Neymar and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Suarez has scored five in the Champions League, five in the Club World Cup and one in the UEFA Super Cup.
The No 9 ends the year as the club’s highest goalscorer in 2015, along with his friend Leo Messi, on 48 goals each. A key part of helping Barcelona finish on 180 goals, beating the previous record – 178 by Real Madrid in 2014.
