Former Barcelona star Patrick Kluivert has sided with the Catalans, stating the trio of Neymar, Messi and Luis Suarez is better than Real Madrid’s ‘BBC’ of Cristiano Ronaldo, Karim Benzema and Gareth Bale.
Kluivert was named as one of La Liga’s ambassadors alongside former Real Madrid Galacticos Roberto Carlos and Luis Figo, but the former Dutch international stayed true to his Barcelona loyalties and stated that the blaugrana have the better attack out of the two clubs and that Barcelona are once again “favourites” to win the La Liga title again this year.
“For me, Barcelona are the favourites to win La Liga, they aren’t too much ahead of Real Madrid, but they have an attacking trio who, compared to Real Madrid, I think are much better.”
The former forward then praised Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez, who he believes is the best pure striker in the entire league.
“I think Suarez is the best centre forward in La Liga. This year he’s changed his positioning because last year he played on the right win and played very well and scored goals, but as a centre forward, he’s doing much better.”
Kluivert was then asked about the comparisons between Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo and while he favoured Barcelona’s star, he did admit that the reigning Ballon d’Or winner is incredible.
“Every manager would love to have either of them on his team.
“I think Messi is better, but what Cristiano is doing is incredible.”
Kluivert has not hidden his loyalty to Barcelona since leaving the club in 2004, with the now 39-year-old consistently congratulating the club and players via social media.
