AS Monaco defender Aymen Abdennour has expressed his desire to join European champions Barcelona.
Seriously linked with a move to Serie A giants AC Milan, the Tunisia international has attracted interest from a host of other continental heavyweights in the past few weeks, including Inter Milan, Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, West Ham United, Liverpool and Barcelona, with whom the player’s representatives have recently met.
“I am ready to play for Barça,” the 25-year-old centre-back told Spanish daily Sport.
“I think I have what it takes to play there.
“I want to go to Barça, but it is up to my president to decide. If they want me to stay, I will go nowhere.”
AS Monaco have put a price tag of around €30 million on Aymen Abdennour, whose contract in the Principality will run until 2019.
The Tunisian has not been included in the 21-squad that will face Young Boys in the first leg of the third preliminary round of the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday.
