Barcelona will bid €80-90m for Juventus star Paul Pogba this week.
The chase for Juventus star Paul Pogba looks set to go up a notch this week with Barcelona starting the bidding with a bid of at least 80 million euros.
Pogba is on the front of both Catalan sports dailies today – see above and below. The only difference is the price: Sport splash “90” by the Frenchman, whilst Mundo Deportivo believe the fee will be “80”.
Both newspapers do agree on one thing: Barcelona and Juventus will discuss Paul Pogba at a transfer summit on Wednesday.
Ariedo Braida, Barcelona’s international sporting director, and Albert Soler, director of sporting institutional relations at the Catalan club, will travel to Turin for talks about Pogba.
Barcelona will make an official offer for Pogba on Wednesday. Sport claim it will be 80 million euros plus 10 million in incentives.
The key for Barcelona, with respect to their transfer ban, and in convincing Juventus to sell, is that Pogba will stay at Juventus for one more season.
If Juventus do accept this offer, there is still no agreement in place between Barcelona and Pogba over personal terms.
Agent Mino Raiola is driving a hard bargain and so far Barcelona are refusing to pay Pogba 12 million euros per year.
Mundo Deportivo cite the pressure from other clubs that has pushed Barcelona to move for Pogba, with Real Madrid, Manchester City, Chelsea and PSG all in touch with Juventus in recent days.
Pogba is not keen to return to the Premier League, having played at Manchester United and struggled for playing time under Sir Alex Ferguson.
