Barcelona are contemplating a move for Manchester City’s Jesus Navas in the New Year as they look to replace Pedro, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The City wideman faces extra competition for a regular starting role at the Etihad this season following the big-money arrivals of Raheem Sterling and Kevin De Bruyne, although he has started all four Premier League games so far for Manuel Pellegrini’s side. Spanish paper Mundo Deportivo claims Barca are interested in the former Sevilla man and will launch a bid for the 29-year-old when they can again add to their squad following the lifting of their transfer embargo early in the new year. The report claims Celta Vigo striker Nolito, Antonio Candreva of Lazio and former Arsenal striker Carlos Vela, now at Real Sociedad, are all also on Barca’s winter shopping list, but Navas is the top target at this stage with a bid of around £15million expected to be lodged.
