The Frenchman, an ex-Barça player, and Club VP Jordi Mestre talk about the high-profile matchup
Former FC Barcelona player Ludovic Giuly was part of the Club’s delegation in Friday’s UEFA Champions League semi-final draw in Nyon, Switzerland. The Frenchman said he believes that “Barça should not be afraid [of Bayern].” He said they have to be respected but that the Catalans need to rely on their “quality, strength and conviction,” to beat the Bavarian side.
“Bayern are very strong and have had a great Champions League so far.” he added. Giuly also opined on perhaps the biggest twist of the coming tie: “Guardiola knows the Club well and now leads an incredibly strong team of his own.”
Giuly formed part of the Barça team that won the Champions League in the 2005/06 season.
