A new scheme has been unveiled by environmental issues activist Hubbub that allows smokers to vote between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi using their discarded cigarettes.
While perhaps not the final factor in deciding the longstanding rivalry between the pair, it has produced some interesting results, with Ronaldo currently leading the way, judging by posts on social media.
The scheme hopes to help keep the streets clean of discarded cigarettes, with the Ronaldo-Messi bin option in London appearing popular already.
Similar boxes have appeared across the city, offering users the chance to vote on the teams they think will win sporting clashes, including Crystal Palace versus Arsenal and England versus Australia in the Ashes, as shown on the Mail Online.
