Antalyaspor player-manager Samuel Eto’o has given an interview to ESPN, during which, among other things, he spoke about the Ballon d’Or, Lionel Messi and Neymar.
Eto’o said he is sure how the Ballon d’Or podium will line up next month: “First place will be for Messi, Neymar will be second and then Cristiano Ronaldo will be third,” he said, before tipping Neymar to have a splendid future in the game.
“Neymar has huge potential. After the domination of Messi and Cristiano [ends], he will surely be the No.1.
“He he has to remember, though, that [his future] depends heavily on everything that he does.
“He has talent and he now has to train, train and train, because you can’t succeed with talent alone.”
Eto’o pointed out the responsibility that comes with wearing No.10 when you play for Brazil, a situation similar to the one he experienced with Cameroon.
“When the team was winning, that was my responsibility, but when losing, you’re singled out by the press and the fans as the one responsible for all the problems,” he indicated.
