Barcelona’s Andres Iniesta remains working away from the group in the gym at the Ciutat Esportiva de Sant Joan. However, the midfielder is now in the final stages of his recovery work and is confident he will soon be back on the pitch with his team-mates — which is important given Sergi Roberto is now also injured.
Iniesta has posted a message on his Instagram account and he appears hopeful of returning to action on Sunday in the La Liga game against Eibar at Camp Nou. “Third week of recovery work and with great sensations! I hope to be able to back with the team soon,” Iniesta wrote. He could even return to full training on Thursday, with the green light from the medical team the next step.
Remember that he was injured n September 29 in the win over Bayer Leverkusen, but his recovery has gone to plan. He has only missed the games against Sevilla, Rayo Vallecano and BATE Borisov so far. However, while he edges towards a comeback, Messi, Rafinha and Roberto will all be missing for this weekend’s visit of Eibar.
