Banned FIFA youngster Paik trains with Barcelona first team
His reward for training hard with the B team was a first-team session
Korean player Seung Ho Paik, of Barcelona’s Juvenil A team, trained with the first team on Friday morning at the Ciutat Esportiva.
Paik, along with Gerard Gumbau, were the two reinforcements called up by Luis Enrique to join the first-team squad in training ahead of their clash with Eibar on Sunday at Camp Nou.
Paik is one of the players affected by the FIFA sanction, which means he cannot play for Barcelona until January 4, 2016. A situation which the player has accepted and in the meanwhile has been training hard under Gerard Lopez with the B team.
On Friday the 18-year-old’s prize was to join the first-team squad. Paik joined Barcelona in 2009, as a striker, but eventually converted into a No 6. He has a great vision of the game, good change of pace and powerful shot. The only shame is that he has not been allowed to show it in matches. But that date is coming closer.
