Why Arsenal need to beat Bayern Munich to the transfer of Barcelona’s Adama Traore.
With only a handful of appearances under his belt for Barcelona’s first team, Adama Traore is nevertheless a wanted man.
Just 19 years of age, he is one of a number of Barca B players that need to be loaned or sold in order for him to continue his footballing development.
Despite all of the Catalans’ recent successes, it has come at a cost. Barca’s reserve side were relegated to the Segunda B division just a season after their best-ever finish.
Quite how the same crop of players have suffered such a fate is beyond the comprehension of those in the locale, especially when you consider the likes of Sergi Samper, Alen Halilovic and Traore could walk into any team in the Premier League and not look out of place.
Bayern Munich have already shown their hand and Pep Guardiola has made it clear that he wants to bring the flying winger to Bavaria.
Whilst there is no suggestion at this stage that the player has a preference as to where he wants to play his football, the fact remains that if a club can activate his £10.6million release clause then they at least have the opportunity to talk with him, and potentially persuade him to move.
