Barcelona sporting director Robert Fernandez says Nolito is a “real possibility” as the Catalan club eye an assault on the January transfer market.
Speaking to RAC1 on Tuesday, here are the highlights from what Fernandez had to say:
Signings: Incorporating players is an option that is open. If there’s the chance to sign someone in January… why not?
Nolito? That’s a real possibility. He is a really good player and we know his situation, but we have other options open, too.
Paul Pogba? He has really good qualities, but you have to assess everything and know what you’re up against… [for Pogba] to play in Barça is very difficult.
Neymar: He’s now the second best player in the world. Cristiano Ronaldo is a magnificent footballer, but for me it’s Neymar. I don’t have any doubts that he will continue at Barcelona. We will sit down, we will talk and I know he will continue with us.
Halilovic: He wasn’t ready for the first team. He’s started really well at Sporting Gijon and he’s got a great chance to evolve — it is the same with Denis Suarez [at Villarreal].
Douglas: It’s difficult to triumph at Barcelona when you come straight from South America. Maybe he lacks an intermediary step.
