The summer transfer window may be over but the rumour mill is omnipresent. Despite domestic leagues and European competitions in full flow there are lot to speculate if we are to anticipate the ‘fast approaching’ January transfer market.
We bring you a roundup of all the latest transfer stories including Chelsea’s plans to sign a Barcelona star who interestingly was a Manchester United target this summer.
Chelsea are believed to be plotting a move to sign Barcelona star Dani Alves during the upcoming January window, according to Fichajes, as reported by the Metro.
The 32-year-old emerged as a top summer target for a host of Premier League clubs, with Manchester United and Liverpool also said to be have been keen on his services.
He was tipped to leave the current La Liga champions during the previous window when he was in the final month of his contract.
However, he eventually agreed the terms of a new deal back in July which could now keep him at the club until at least 2017, with the option to extend a further year.
The Blues have begun their Premier League title defence with a number of disappointing displays as manager Jose Mourinho considers Alves as a short-term replacement for struggling star Branislav Ivanovic.
He featured a total of 46 times in all competitions last term, providing 11 assists and is expected to cost around £14.5million.
