According to Mundo Deportivo their front page was a little surprising.
Leading with the banner headline ‘Oliveira offers himself’, the paper say that 35-year-old Ricardo Oliveira wants a January move to Barcelona.
Why a veteran striker’s desire to join one of the world’s biggest clubs should make the paper’s front page is a bit odd, but when the story is explained inside, one can see the cachet.
Having sold Pedro in the summer and lost Rafinha to a long-term ACL injury, Barcelona are short of options in attack, and are having to rely on academy youngsters Munir and Sandro.
A player of Oliveira’s ilk would offer much-needed composure and experience, and could also be got on the cheap.
The fact he has been recalled to the Brazil squad shows that age hasn’t dimmed his quality, while his agent (Ronaldinho’s brother) would also be a facilitator.

The plan wasn’t about getting new strikers however because of the too many injuries then the team should consider a backup plan
