Sources claim that Barça and Dortmund have engaged in transfer talks for the 24-year-old. Ariedo Braida, the club’s sporting director, reached out to BVB and formally expressed his interest in working out a deal for the midfielder. If the talks advance quickly, Braida plans a trip to Germany to work on the details in person. Remember, Barça is free to negotiate and even sign players in 2015, as long as they don’t register the deals until January 1st of next year.
The interest in Gundogan started to rise with his return to form in Germany. He battled injuries all of last season which diminished his market value. None of the top European teams have been linked to him so far, which would make this a steal for Barça if it happens.
Am I allowed to pray for this to work? I really want to see Gundogan playing at Barça. Please, Football Gods? Amen.
