Ajax manager Frank de Boer has urged Robin van Persie to join Barcelona from Fenerbahce, according to reports from the [Goal].
Van Persie left Manchester United during the summer after several successful seasons in the Premier League, with the Netherlands international also previously playing for Arsenal.
However, the 32-year-old has struggled in the Turkish top flight, and his difficulties seemed to have alerted La Liga giants Barca of his possible availability.
And De Boer, who played for Barcelona back in the day, is adamant that Van Persie would do very well for the Blaugrana if he were to join anytime soon.
“If he transfers to Barcelona, this would be a good chance for him,” he said.
“You have to give him a chance. He is a player who can play at that level.”
Van Persie won the Premier League title with Man United in 2013, claiming the golden boot along the way with 26 league goals.
