Barcelona striker Luis Suarez is keen to add to his trophy haul at the Camp Nou after what he called an “incredible” first year with the club.
Suarez joined the Catalan side from Liverpool for a reported £75m in the Summer of 2014 but didn’t make his debut until mid October due to serving a four month ban for biting Giorgio Chiellini at the World Cup.
However, one year ago on from making his debut in the El Clasico clash with Real Madrid, Suarez has gone on to form one of the most feared attacks in world football with Lionel Messi and Neymar.
The Uruguayan scored 25 goals in 43 appearances in his first season with Barcelona but is keen for more trophies with Luis Enrique’s side.
“I never imagined I would win the treble in my first season at Barcelona,” he told Diario SPORT
“We had to jump over lots of obstacles to have such a stellar season, but it’s been an incredible year.
“It has not been easy. It’s difficult and complicated to win all three titles.”
Whilst Lionel Messi is still out injured, Barcelona have endured an uncharacteristic troubled start to the season, losing twice already in the league.
Despite those complaints, though, they are still joint top of La Liga with Celta Vigo and Real Madrid, while they also lead their Champions League group with Suarez desperate for more.
“This year, after the treble, we’re still demanding really high standards,” the 28-year-old added.
“That’s normal, because we always want more, but to win [trophies] you have to overcome many different things.”
When reflecting back on his first year with the club, Suarez revealed his favourite moment in a Barca shirt.
“The goal I scored against Real Madrid, I think it has to be my best moment,” he said of his winner against Los Blancos. “But also the Champions League [final against Juventus], which allowed us to win our third trophy.”
