Chelsea have a recent history of making big-money signings who fail to settle at Stamford Bridge.
Left-back Filipe Luis returned to Atletico Madrid in the summer after only a season in west London. And £23.3 million February singing Juan Cuadrado was loaned to Juventus in August after failing to make an impact in Chelsea’s first team.
Pedro could be another of the Blues’ misjudged purchases, but it is far too early to condemn him as a failure just yet.
Both Pedro and Chelsea have more than enough quality to turn their current form around, and the Spain international will undoubtedly start enjoying life more if and when he and the Blues start playing well.
