Barcelona central midfielder Rafinha has put pen to paper on a new contract at FC Barcelona’s offices on Monday morning, with president Josep Maria Bartomeu present.
He has signed on until 30 June 2020, with a release fee clause of €75million.
Rafinha was with the president, as well as sporting vice-president Jordi Mestre and technical secretary Robert Fernandez.
He is currently recovering from a serious knee injury he sustained against Roma in the Champions League and was happy to be given a new deal.
“It’s very nice to enjoy this. Barcelona is my home, I arrived at 13 and I am very happy,” said Rafinha.
In terms of his recovery, he said: “The recovery’s going quickly.” On the Clasico he added: “When the best players in the world come together, working hard and with persistence, these are the results.”
