The Barça coach appeared optimistic about his team’s form for the decisive final phase of the season
The coach Luis Enrique Martínez appeared in the traditional pre-game press conference on Friday ahead of this weekend’s league clash away at Córdoba. He appeared convinced that his players will not be distracted by the upcoming clash with Bayern Munich in the Champions League. “There is a league title at stake and the players can feel that. After that they could give a the best of themselves or the worst and be more or less on the ball,” he pointed out. The Asturian coach foresees difficulties against the bottom side and that the team would need to be at their best.
Below we highlight the most important statements from the press conference:
Decisive moment
“When there are four games left, they are key games.”
“For a few months now the team has shown itself to be a solvent one. I am optimistic.”
“If we win all our games then it does not matter what our opponents do. What matters to me is that we can keep winning.”
“Now we can’t stop. The goal for Barça is always to win trophies. We have not done that yet but we are in the position to do it.”
“It is not an advantage for us to take the league race right to the end. I would prefer to have it won.”
Opponents’ troubles
“Córdoba are in a difficult situation. We will go into the game not thinking about where they are in the table and I am sure we will find it difficult and we will need to play well.”
“They are in big trouble and that can have a liberating effect. I am convinced it will be tough. “
“The players know that when the referee blows both sides are in the same position, no credit in the bank.”
